Translation as an intertextual procedure: Leminski's reinvention of Petronius's Satyricon

Resumo: The present article highlights some aspects of the Petronius’ Satyricon translation, performed by the poet Paulo Leminski. Our analysis will focus on the dialogue between the intertextual theory and the conceptions established by the poet about translation. We will accentuate the similarities between the aforementioned theories, that reflect the translation work, in this case, includes the Latin source text and its reinvention in Portuguese, by the translation in the target text, emphasizing passages that reveal the appropriation of the Latin text.
