The use of a didactic sequence for the teaching of Powers and Roots

Resumo: The didactic sequence is a set of articulated activities that are planned with the intention of achieving a certain didactic objective. Thus, in view of the students' difficulties in relation to the contents of Powers and Roots, it was proposed the development of a didactic sequence with the purpose of restraining the main doubts and allowing the significant learning of these mathematical contents. The proposal was developed in classes A and B of the 9th grade of elementary school of a public school in the city of Mercês - MG during Supervised Internship II of the Degree course in Mathematics of IF Sudeste MG - Campus Rio Pomba. The didactic sequence, which consisted of a story about the Powers, a review of the content, a list of activities and a board game related to the content of Powers and Roots, made classes more dynamic, comprehensive and participatory and contributed significantly to the learning of 9th graders.

Así, considerando las dificultades de los alumnos en relación a los contenidos de Potencias y Raíces, se propuso el desarrollo de una secuencia didáctica con el propósito de resolver las principales dudas y permitir el aprendizaje significativo de estos contenidos matemáticos. La propuesta fue desarrollada en las clases A y B de 9º grado de enseñanza primaria de una escuela pública de la ciudad de Mercês - MG durante la Pasantía Supervisada II del Curso de Licenciatura en Matemática del IF Sudeste MG - Campus Rio Pomba. La secuencia didáctica, que consistió en una historia sobre potencias, un repaso del contenido, una lista de actividades y un juego de mesa relacionado con el contenido de potencias y raíces, hizo las clases más dinámicas, comprensivas y participativas y contribuyó significativamente al aprendizaje de los alumnos de 9º grado de las escuelas primarias.A sequência didática é um conjunto de atividades articuladas que são planejadas com a intenção de atingir um determinado objetivo didático. Assim, tendo em vista as dificuldades dos alunos em relação aos conteúdos de Potências e Raízes, se propôs o desenvolvimento de uma sequência didática com a finalidade de sanar as principais dúvidas e permitir a aprendizagem significativa desses conteúdos matemáticos. A proposta foi desenvolvida nas turmas A e B do 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública da cidade de Mercês - MG durante o Estágio Supervisionado II do curso de Licenciatura em Matemática do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Sudeste de Minas Gerais - IF Sudeste MG - Campus Rio Pomba.
