AN EXAMPLE OF HISTORICAL COMPARATIVE STUDY ABOUT THE ADOPTION OF ARITHMETIC TEXTBOOKS IN SÃO PAULO AND SANTA CATARINA FOR USE IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS: 1890-1930

Resumo: This text aims to present an analysis of the reflections about the adoption of arithmetic‘s textbooks that have occurred in times of deployment of School Groups in the states of São Paulo and Santa Catarina at the turn of the nineteenth century - XX in the early republican period. This analysis took some aspects of comparative historical perspective (NUNES, 2001; CHARTIER, 2007) and favored the use of the sources present in the Institutional Repository of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (https://repositorio.ufsc.br/xmlui/handle/123456789 / 1769). Can observe a continuity of policies implemented in São Paulo brought to the state of Santa Catarina São Paulo due to diffusion model associated by their corresponding emissaries, in the case of Santa Catarina, Prof. Orestes Guimarães. Such results are revealed from the same formatting and logic of normative prescriptions - decrees with adoption and approval of textbooks - as well as the same indications of titles and authors to be used for teaching arithmetic.

Esta análise tomou alguns aspectos da perspectiva histórico comparativa (NUNES, 2001; CHARTIER, 2007) e privilegiou o uso das fontes presentes no Repositório Institucional da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (https://repositorio.ufsc.br/xmlui/handle/123456789/1769). Pode-se observar uma continuidade das políticas implementadas em São Paulo levadas ao estado de Santa Catarina devido a difusão do modelo paulista associado pelos seus emissários correspondentes, no caso de Santa Catarina, o Prof. Orestes Guimarães.
