Resumo: | The objective of the present study was to characterize the knowledge and use of computational resources by nursing undergraduates of a public university. A quantitative study was conducted with 123 nursing students (45 in the 1st term of the course, 35 in the 5th term, and 43 in the 9th term). Data were processed using the software package Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®), and Pearson’s chi-square test was applied with a significance level of p £ 0,05. Results showed that students considered that their knowledge on information technology informatics was basic and intermediary, that it was acquired mostly by self-teaching, and that it had not significantly improved during the course |

La investigación, de carácter cuantitativo, se constituyó de 123 académicos de Enfermería (45 de la primera etapa de la carrera, 35 de la quinta etapa y 43 de la novena etapa). Los datos han sido procesados en el software software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®), y se aplicó la prueba de significancia del quicuadrado de Pearson, con nivel de significancia de p £ 0,05. Los académicos consideran básico o intermedio su conocimiento de informática, adquirido predominantemente por auto-aprendizaje, no ocurriendo elevación significativa de ese conocimiento a lo largo de la carreraEste estudo objetiva caracterizar o conhecimento e a utilização de recursos computacionais por parte de acadêmicos de enfermagem de uma universidade pública. A investigação, de caráter quantitativo, foi constituída por 123 acadêmicos de enfermagem (45 da 1ª etapa do curso, 35 da 5ª etapa e 43 da 9ª etapa). Os dados foram processados no software software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®) e aplicado o teste de significância de qui-quadrado de Pearson com nível de significância em p £ 0,05.
