Resumo: This paper aims to analyze the evolution of the Brazilian legislation concerning teacher appreciation. Based on the analysis of the educational legislation, it is observed that although the teacher appreciation has been under a constant debate for a long time in the legal order of the country, with the presence of themes such as fair payment, decent working conditions and other factors, it is still early to say that education professionals are appreciated as they should be. What is established in the law is still far from reality, despite several achievements in recent times. This way, we can say that having legal changes to ensure the teaching appreciation in Brazil is not enough, being indispensable much struggle and social mobilization.

Com base na análise da legislação educacional, podemos observar que, apesar da valorização docente ser uma discussão constante há muito tempo no ordenamento legal do país, com a presença de temas como remuneração condigna, condições de trabalho adequadas, entre outros fatores, ainda é cedo para afirmar que os profissionais da educação serão valorizados como deveriam, uma vez que o que está estabelecido na lei ainda está distante da realidade, apesar de diversas conquistas alcançadas nos últimos tempos.
