A case study on the search of an epistemology of teaching and learning audiovisual translation: from perceptions to actions

Resumo: In this case study, I will present how the teaching and learning of audiovisual translation were implemented in the context of a course titled Prática de Tradução: Textos Audiovisuais (Translation Practice: Audiovisual Texts), offered, in the year 2021, to students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Translation (English-Portuguese) at the Federal University of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Descriptive in nature (COHEN et al., 2018), this case study chronologically presents the actions that were taken during the elaboration of subtitles for didactic videos, including the student’s perceptions on the framework of the classes. In my arguments, pedagogical issues gain ground in the search of an epistemological and theoretical basis for the training of audiovisual translators.

De carácter descriptivo (COHEN et al., 2018), este estudio de caso presenta cronológicamente las acciones que se llevaron a cabo durante la elaboración de subtítulos para vídeos didácticos, incluyendo la percepción de los estudiantes sobre la estructuración de las lecciones.
