Rural youth and the dispute over schooling projects: relations between capital, work and education

This article deals with rural education, specifically with the schooling of young people, highlighting the conditions of the hegemonic school project that rural schools and, also, the process of productive social insertion of rural youth subject to the logic of capital. It addresses vital questions about the educational needs of the rural population, such as: the permanence of young people in the countryside, the school curriculum and the elevation of theoretical capacity to face the problems of the countryside. We highlight the contributions of historical-critical pedagogy based on the experience of the Ação Escola da Terra FACED/UFBA to face the contradictions in the schooling of young rural workers, reaffirming the need for public policies to guarantee the right to education in and in the field.
