The assessment formative and the Zone of Proximal Development

Resumo: This article aims to present the possible relationships between formative assessment and the Zone of Proximal Development of Vygotsky. As a research method, we have chosen to use speculative research, since the intention is to produce a theoretical text based on other theoretical texts. The Zone of Proximal Development can be considered as the space between the level of real development and the level of potential development. The formative evaluation can be understood as a school process that aims to identify and modify the learning gap of the students, being a way to identify the real development zone and intervene so that the student reaches all its potential development. It is concluded that the formative assessment can be seen as complementary to the concept of Zone of Proximal Development when it comes to student learning.

Como método de investigación, se optó por utilizar la investigación especulativa, pues la intención es producir un texto teórico con base en otros textos teóricos. La Zona de Desarrollo Proximal puede considerarse como el espacio entre el nivel de desarrollo real y el nivel de desarrollo potencial. La evaluación formativa puede ser entendida como un proceso escolar que busca identificar y modificar la brecha de aprendizaje de los estudiantes, siendo una forma de identificar la zona de desarrollo real e intervenir para que el alumno alcance todo su desarrollo potencial. Se concluye que la evaluación formativa puede ser vista como complementaria al concepto de Zona de Desarrollo Proximal cuando se trata del aprendizaje de los alumnos.Este artigo tem por objetivo apresentar as possíveis relações entre a avaliação formativa e a Zona de Desenvolvimento Proximal de Vygotsky. Como método de pesquisa, optou-se por utilizar a pesquisa especulativa, pois a intenção é produzir um texto teórico com base em outros textos teóricos. A Zona de Desenvolvimento Proximal pode ser considerada como o espaço entre o nível de desenvolvimento real e o nível de desenvolvimento potencial. A avaliação formativa pode ser entendida como um processo escolar que visa identificar e modificar a lacuna de aprendizagem dos estudantes, sendo uma forma de identificar a zona de desenvolvimento real e intervir para que o aluno alcance todo seu desenvolvimento potencial.
