Resumo: The work presents a research developed with undergraduates of a Teaching Degree in Chemistry, who participated as scholarship holders of the PIBID Project, with the objective of identifying the motivation to choose the undergraduate course, the influence of PIBID on the permanence as a teacher and its impact on the academic formation of the scholarship holders. The methodology was qualitative in nature with interviewing as a form of data collection. The undergraduates emphasized the importance of the methodological proposals developed in the project in their academic formation, and considered the contact with the school reality provided by the PIBID an important aspect for the permanence as teachers. They were surprised to find unattended professionals who encouraged them to give up the teaching career and emphasized the importance of a postgraduate degree as a way to obtain better salaries and professional appreciation.

La metodología fue de naturaleza cualitativa con la realización de entrevistas como forma de recolección de datos. Los egresados destacaron la importancia de las propuestas metodológicas desarrolladas en el proyecto en su formación académica, y consideraron el contacto con la realidad escolar proporcionada por el PIBID un aspecto importante para la permanencia como docentes. Manifestaron sorpresa al encontrar en las escuelas profesionales desmotivadas que les animaron a desistir de la carrera docente y enfatizaron la importancia de un título de postgrado como una forma de obtener mejores salarios y valorización profesional.O trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa com a participação de egressos de um curso de licenciatura em química que atuaram como bolsistas do projeto PIBID, tendo como objetivo identificar a motivação para a escolha pelo curso de graduação, a influência do PIBID na permanência como docente e seu impacto na formação dos bolsistas. A metodologia foi de natureza qualitativa com a realização de entrevista como forma de coleta de dados. Os egressos destacaram a importância das propostas metodológicas desenvolvidas no projeto em sua formação acadêmica, e consideraram o contato com a realidade escolar proporcionada pelo PIBID um aspecto importante para a permanência como docentes.
