The National High School Examination essay according to the Systemic Functional Linguistics perspective

Resumo: This paper presents the analysis of seven essays that received maximum score in the National Examination of High School in accordance with Systemic Functional Linguistics, proposed by Halliday (1982), Martin e Rose (2008) e Rose e Martin (2012). The purpose of the study was to verify the lexical-grammatical elements used in the argumentative proposal of the 1000 graded essays in the year 2014, with the aim of describing the genre. The research is characterized by being a documentary analysis based on semantic-discursive analysis of the seven selected texts for research. This analysis helps in understand about the linguistic resources used for the student to convince the examining board about the proposal and how these resources produces texts from the Arguments family. The analyzed samples presented typical stages of the Exposition and Discussion genres, according the Sydney School, demonstrating that the context of the test requires the students to present other points of view besides arguments that support their opinion.

El propósito del estudio fue verificar los elementos léxico-gramaticales utilizados en la propuesta argumentativa de las redacciones nota 1000 en el año 2014, para fines de descripción del género. La investigación se caracteriza por ser de análisis documental, con base en análisis semántico-discursivo de los siete textos seleccionados para la investigación. Este análisis ayuda en la comprensión de recursos lingüísticos utilizados por el alumno para convencer a la banca acerca de la propuesta dada y cómo esos recursos engendran textos de la familia de los Argumentos. Los ejemplares analizados presentaron estadios típicos de los géneros Exposición y Discusión, según lo descrito por la Escuela de Sydney, demostrando que el contexto de la prueba exige de los estudiantes la presentación de otros puntos de vista además de argumentos que sustenten su opinión.Este artigo apresenta a análise de sete redações nota 1000 do Exame Nacional do Ensino médio à luz da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional. O propósito do estudo foi verificar os elementos léxico-gramaticais utilizados na proposta argumentativa das redações nota 1000 no ano de 2014, para fins de descrição do gênero. A pesquisa caracteriza-se por ser de análise documental, com base em análise semântico-discursiva dos sete textos selecionados para a pesquisa. Tal análise ajuda na compreensão de recursos linguísticos utilizados pelo o aluno para convencer a banca acerca da proposta dada e como esses recursos engendram textos da família dos Argumentos.
