Resumo: | In this paper we review important researches on reading comprehension difficulties. Firstly, we present the identification and classification of already mapped difficulties. Then, we show what experimental researches that investigated low and high cognitive abilities have to say about the topic. At the end, we evaluate the two study tendencies presented and the Brazilian necessities on the topic. |

Inicialmente, apresentamos a identificação e classificação das dificuldades já mapeadas. Em seguida, mostramos as contribuições de pesquisas experimentais que investigaram habilidades de baixo nível cognitivo e habilidades de alto nível cognitivo envolvidas na compreensão leitora.
