Resumo: The present study aims to present proposals for monitoring activities and their evaluation by the participating students during the execution of the project “Monitoring activities for Science Teaching at the elementary and middle level”, which took place in two public schools of Vale do Taquari - RS. The study involved three students and a teacher from each school, who developed topics such as electrical circuit experiments, thermochemistry with focus on energy consumption in food, study on garbage with garbage preparation and study on the disposal of cooking oil with making soap. The research was qualitative, using as main instrument of data collection an interview, carried out with the monitor students, which showed that they approved the proposal and that, in the course of the activities, they developed important skills and competences not only for the school life as well as for the professional.

O estudo envolveu três alunos e uma professora de cada escola, que desenvolveram temas relacionados com experimentos de circuitos elétricos, termoquímica com enfoque na energia envolvida no consumo de alimentos, estudo sobre o lixo com confecção de lixeiras e estudo sobre o descarte do óleo de cozinha com confecção de sabão.
