Resumo: The present article presents the elaboration process of an Educational Product (EP) developed from the investigation about the presence of black quota-holders in the Integrated High School (IHS) of the Federal Institutes. With a dialectical materialist approach, the research was developed from a bibliographic research that mobilized references about racism, quotas and professional education and, later, with the application of a questionnaire directed to students of the Integrated Technical High School courses of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southern Minas Gerais (IFSULDEMINAS), Passos campus. From data collection and analysis, in dialogue with the theoretical and methodological framework, it was observed that, besides welfare actions, it is essential to develop strategies to strengthen the sense of belonging and self-esteem of black students. Geared to educators, the EP is based on the conceptions of Bell Hooks, Paulo Freire and Dermeval Saviani. It is a Teaching Sequence (TS), whose key point is a memory game. The PE aims to analyze the specificities of the trajectories of black intellectuals in Brazil, to reaffirm the need to build anti-racist practices and to combat prejudice and racial discrimination, as well as to identify what it means for the students to study at the Federal Institute and what their expectations are for the future. In order to stimulate a wider reflection on the relations between race, education and work in Brazil, the EP can contribute to the processes of racial and social inclusion, demonstrating the importance of affirmative actions.

Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Amazonas2023-02-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado pelos paresapplication/pdftext/xmlhttps://sistemascmc.ifam.edu.br/educitec/index.php/educitec/article/view/205110.31417/educitec.v9.2051Educitec - Journal of Studies and Research on Technological Teaching ; Vol. 9 No. jan./dez.
