Resumo: This article, part of the research “School Violence: discrimination, bullying and responsibility”, aims to analyze teachers' understanding of bullying and, more specifically, to identify the profile of those involved in these actions (aggressors, victims and observers), as well as the relationship between violence (suffered and practiced) and school performance. The methodology used was of a qualitative nature and the data were collected through a semi-structured interview with teachers of Portuguese Language, Arts and Physical Education who work in the final years of elementary school. The survey results shows that teachers partially understand the bullying situation, identify the victims and the aggressors, but do not mention the observers who, in face of their role, need to be made visible. In turn, violence and school performance denote ambiguity in the face of the intellectual and the manifestation of official and unofficial hierarchies that materialize at school. Keywords: Violence, Bullying; School performance.O presente artigo, recorte da pesquisa “Violência Escolar: discriminação, bullying e responsabilidade”, tem como objetivo analisar a compreensão de professores sobre o bullying e, mais especificamente, identificar o perfil dos envolvidos nessas ações (os agressores, as vítimas e os observadores), bem como a relação entre violência (sofrida e praticada) e desempenho escolar. A metodologia empregada foi de cunho qualitativo e os dados foram levantados através de entrevista semiestruturada com professores de Língua Portuguesa, Artes e Educação Física que atuam nos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que os professores compreendem de forma parcial a situação de bullying, identificam as vítimas e os agressores, mas não mencionam os observadores que, diante do papel que exercem, carecem de ser visibilizados.
